Hello, Chris Oliver
Chris has been a Tour Guide across Europe for over twenty years, living in Guernsey. He is proud to now get his Guernsey Accreditation too. With a background in Film and Television as an onscreen presenter, director and producer he has made programs for BBC & Independent Television & Radio, including 'Time Team' and 'Walking through History'. His personal interests include military history through the ages. However, as well has having a long list of interesting Tours he is often asked to create bespoke tours (and lectures) aligned to special interest groups or family histories.
Chris's Story
Raised in Northumberland, with a family connection in the entertainment world, Chris has been in Guernsey for over forty years running businesses in analytical risk, regulative compliance and resilience management, achieving an industry Fellowship over twenty years ago. He was the co founder of the current popular Around Island Walk Charity and is President of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry Trust, Guernsey and the RGLI Charitable Association in France. In his spare time he has researched his personal interests in military history and provided entertaining, knowledgeable and easy to digest tours for the public, veterans, army staff and those with specialist interests.
