Hello, Linda O'Leary
Linda is a Silver Accredited Guide with the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides, in effect approved by the Government through Visit Guernsey . Having lived in Guernsey all her life she has a keen interest in the islands, their history, traditions, laws and customs. Linda also contracts as an Education Assistant for Heritage & Culture involving Tours of Castle Cornet for French Students. She has also created a set of her own bespoke Tours and Walks and would be happy to discuss any specialist interests too.
Linda's Story
Linda was born and educated in Guernsey and lives here with her husband. She spent over 35 years in the finance industry and was also involved for three years in the Bailiwick of Guernsey Millennium Tapestry which represented 1,000 years of Guernsey history. It focuses on our history, folklore and language. Linda has the unusual ability to be able to trace her family history back through thirty two - yes 32 - generations to the time of Guillaume de Carter-et (circa 960 to 1004). How many people can say that? It is no wonder that she enjoys sharing her knowledge of the Bailiwick, its heritage, language and culture. Linda is also a fluent French speaker, and in her spare time enjoys singing with 'State of Harmony', spending time with her grandchildren and doing all manner of arts and crafts.
