Hello, Bryan Pill

Bryan has been a Silver accredited Tour Guide with the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides since 2021. He is a natural story-teller and an experienced, and passionate speaker on the Island’s history. An amateur marine biologist with an interest in botany. Delights in 17th and 18th century Island history with specific interest in all things Nautical. Both the 1940-45 Occupation and early aviation are also areas of particular interest.  As a Silver tour guide his delight has been to bring Guernsey’s story alive, on his native Island. So he would love you to join him on an adventure, exploring the unique beauty of this fascinating community which we call the Bailiwick of Guernsey. He is more than happy for you to join him on one of his tours ‘below’ or perhaps you would like to discuss a more tailored experience.

Bryan's Story

Bryan grew up and went to school in Guernsey and now lives at the end of Runway (09) with his wife in an old chapel. His three adult children have all flown the nest. He taught chemistry and outdoor activities in India, the UK and Guernsey, where he eventually became a special education teacher. Completed a Theology MA and, until Covid, worked with MAF for about 27 years, mostly as a bush pilot flying single-engined aircraft both land and floatplanes, mainly in East and Central Africa, with a few years in Bangladesh. He has been a commissioner with Guernsey Overseas Aid till summer 2026 and is the Chaplain to the Boys Brigade. His family moved to Guernsey in the 1700s from Cornwall with Jean Pill marrying a local girl. Both sides of his family were affected by the events of the Occupation in 1940-45 and so there are stories to tell!
